Grandstand Stakes Winner

March 13, 2022

Homebred Kneesnhips won her three year old debut from the grandstand side of the track at Fairgrounds on Saturday. Selected by Tom Amoss for owner Joel Politi, the Connect filly out of Miss Holiday Inn cost only $30,000 from our Keeneland September 2020 consignment:

"Kneesnhips captured Saturday's Allen Black Cat Lacombe Memorial S. in dramatic fashion. Despite breaking smartly, the dark bay settled midpack on the rail and was moving toward the rear of the field, not the front, through slow early fractions of :24.69 and :50.72. Dropping back to ninth and last while only two furlongs from home, Kneesnhips came off the turn extremely wise. Fanned almost to the grandstand rail, she ran most of the stretch on her wrong lead, prevailing late to get up by a length over last year's GII Jessamine S. winner California Angel. The winner was making her first start since a third in the Nov. 6 Chelsey Flower S. at Belmont. She was also third in Saratoga's Bolton Landing S. after breaking her maiden at Ellis Park on the 4th of July." (TDN)
